About
Prior to transferring to the material art and design program at the Ontario College of Art and Design University for undergraduate studies, I spent time working towards a degree in anthropology at the University of Ottawa. The opportunity to focus my studies on academic research from an anthropological perspective now serves as an important part of my design process. Presently, this background is reflected in the concepts and themes grounding my practice, resolving in an overarching interest in what it means to practically enjoy qualitative experiences—particularly those found in the minutia of daily life.
My practice centers around weaving and natural dye, and am expanding my knowledge of surface design techniques. Through a combination of meaningful research and playful interpretations, my intention is to create sophisticated textile design work which has the bizarrely profound affect of those dreams you have in the morning between your first and second alarms.
